Here at Keppel Dentistry our top priority is giving you the best possible treatment to transform your smile and ensure you can enjoy healthier and more beautiful teeth.
Everyday our team of leading UK clinicians speak to patients who come to us looking for great results and from time to time there is a need to recommend the use of braces.
When you mention the word braces most people picture the rather ugly, chunky metal braces of the past and we find that particularly adults are reluctant to wear braces because they are either embarrassed or self-conscious to wear them in public, or they think they will be difficult or uncomfortable to use.
But there is really no need to worry as the latest developments in modern dentistry have provided an alternative which not only delivers fantastic results, but also allows people to have treatment no one will know about, let alone see.
Lingual braces offer the perfect discreet solution to patients who don’t want their treatment to be visible to the world when they smile. While traditional braces are attached to the front of the teeth and each bracket mass produced to fit the uniform shape of the tooth, Lingual braces have brackets which have been individually designed to fit the unique shape of the back of the teeth to ensure they are almost invisible when you smile, talk and eat so you can have complete confidence.
More About Lingual Braces
The brace’s brackets apply a low level amount of pressure onto the back of the teeth, this discreet treatment gently forces teeth into their correct position in the mouth to give a straighter, more symmetrical smile making it the perfection option for patients wanting to correct issues such as crowding, closing gaps and repositioning rotated teeth.
Comfortable to wear, yet incredibly hard working, lingual braces can be fitted across just two appointments with regular check-ups recommended to ensure progress is monitored at every stage and the best possible results are achieved.
Lingual braces are just one option available to you at Keppel Dentistry and our team of highly trained experts can work closely with you to determine the right treatment for you to given you confidence in your smile.
- 1At-home: The most common at-home method of teeth whitening involves having a cast of your teeth taken while you are at the dentists. This involves biting into a tray that is filled with dental putty. The dentist uses this mold to produce a clear plastic cover, or tray for your teeth into which you place whitening gel. The cover can be worn overnight for a period of a week or so until you’ve achieved the right shade for your teeth. Some gels can be used for shorter periods and will achieve the same results. Your dentist will be able to advise.
- 2In-practice: In-practice bleaching procedures generally use a light-cured protective layer that is carefully painted on the gums and the tips of the gums between the teeth. The bleaching agent is hydrogen peroxide.
- 3Light-accelerated bleaching: Power or light-accelerated bleaching uses light energy to accelerate the process of bleaching in a dental practice. Different types of energy can be used in this procedure, with the most common being halogen, LED or plasma arc. Most power teeth whitening treatments can be done in a single visit to the dentists which lasts less than an hour.
