Dental Implant Treatments by Dr Carl Manhem
Dental Implant Treatments in Sutton, Surrey
Dental implants are a way of permanently securing crowns, bridges, partial and even full dentures into your mouth.
Dental implants are an increasingly popular way of replacing lost or missing teeth.
This is achieved by inserting a titanium screw into the jaw bone so that replacement teeth can be permanently attached. As the socket heals, the screw fuses with the bone to form an increasingly secure anchor to hold the teeth in place. Because implants don’t move they feel and behave just like your natural teeth and present no difficulties when it comes to chewing your food.
At Keppel Dentistry we are proud to work with the world-renowned implant specialist, Dr Carl Manhem who has appeared on Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies series and is Europe’s leading expert in providing Teeth in a Day.
More About Dental Implant Treatments
We will examine your mouth thoroughly before advising whether a dental implant is appropriate. We will assess your bone tissue and look for any areas that need treating as it is important that your mouth is fully healthy before the procedure can be considered.
While dental implants offer a convenient, long-term solution to the problem of missing teeth, they are not always suitable for everyone; some patients may not be considered for this course of treatment especially where certain medical conditions exist. We will be happy to advise you about your suitability.
Dental implants involve some surgical procedures to create a fixed point in your mouth where the crown or denture can be attached. An impression is taken which enables the dentist and technician to reproduce a crown or bridge that mirrors the rest of the mouth to achieve a perfect finish that looks and feels natural.
Your dentist will ensure the crown or bridge is firmly cemented into position and make sure you are comfortable with the fit so you have complete confidence in your new teeth. We strongly advise you to look after your implanted teeth, your natural teeth and also your gums. With care they will last many years, especially if you avoid smoking. As with all good oral hygiene, we recommend regular check-ups to keep your mouth in the best possible condition.
